The Spanish Have Arrived
I showered and retired for the evening early at around 9:30 pm. Then the young Spanish women of whom I have not yet met arrived while I was in the shower. So when I left the shower to enter the hostel room, I was pleasantly surprised to see the other Spanish women whom I was now meeting for the first time. She is beautiful with natural sandy brown hair, slim physic and pleasant demeanor.
She leaned forward toward me while planting her rear end slightly on the desk that was in front of me, while I was sitting on my bed facing her. She appeared to be trying to strike up a conversation that eventually led her to talking and, talking and talking in broken English. Then she said that she and the other Spanish women here in the room are meeting at this time to have their dinner and would I like to join them. I was a bit surprised to have been invited, and I replied, oh really, Ah, then she said giggling among a slight forward bow, “Yes, I am inviting you” We both together laughed and I replied, “Yes, and thank you for inviting me, I am going to quickly change and I will meet you all downstairs in around ten minutes”. She said “ok, and are you sure of where the place is?”, and I answered, “Yes, downstairs where the breakfast is held”. I went downstairs and casually and comfortably sat directly in front of my younger Spanish hostel mates while of course hoping to see Laura soon. I said to them “You are my roommate’s, right?”, and one of them replied; “Yes, then I asked; “Where is Laura”? She replied, “in the kitchen cooking or preparing her meal”.
These two women are friendly, though can give off a somewhat stoic expression and they rarely smile or laugh. I sat for a while in anticipation, maybe ten minutes, and then Laura arrived and sat next to me, on my left, while organizing her food. Of course Laura commenced with talking; “The food in London is not good”. Laura stressed, “in relation to the significance of the Spanish diet, being Mediterranean, in reference to health benefits”. After a few minutes passed while Laura continued to talk, I inconspicuously reared back in which to take a serious critical observation of her sitting physic.
I was shocked at what I saw. I said to her quietly, “You are physically perfect!” she smiled as she continued mixing her meal with her fork, as though she had heard this before though enjoyed hearing it again. I then said, “But how do you do something like that, I don’t believe I have ever sat next to anyone so physically perfect” she laughed a little, and then replied mockingly, “If I need, I could model”, then she made mockingly movements of modeling. We both laughed. Laura then said that she simply eats the Spanish Mediterranean diet of using olive oil and that a great deal of her physic and eating habits are genetically from her father, he is the same. Laura said that she and her father are also mentally wired to stop eating when they are full.
Laura has recently completed her PHD in area of Media and now she is spending some time traveling in London. Laura said that she is happy to be returning to Spain tomorrow in which to continue indulging in her Mediterranean style of eating as London is limited on her particular Spanish entrees.
Laura said that a must-see museum is the Tate museum and that the London Eye is something to take in during one’s time in London. She said that she had spent the day in Brighton. This is the place that I had planned to visit today as well. These Spanish hostel mates rather drew me in as the Spanish are so pleasant, human, and intelligent, talkative and stylish. Laura stated that London eventually becomes too cramped for her and that she cannot wait to get back to her country of Spain that has breathing room. I wish that I had asked her where she is from in Spain, Madrid, Barcelona or Seville?
I told Laura that I only hear wonderful things about Spain and that I am considering going soon. Laura said that the planes to look at for Spain are Ryan Air and Easy Jet. Laura said that the deals are around thirty to forty pounds if booked weeks and months early.
I did not tell Laura that I am going to also look at the train as well, as planes are not especially my thing. I informed Laura that this Equity hostel is Spanish owned, and she was surprised. The other Spanish woman who is the pharmacists concurred that this Equity hostel is indeed Spanish. Laura said that she liked this hostel and that she did not know that it was Spanish; she only booked the hostel for a place to stay …
